Gallery 918 presents: Today, from yesterday and tomorrow: a group show celebrating artists who confront the boundaries of contemporary Canadian craft techniques

Gallery 918 is calling out to all emerging/professional artists who demonstrate creative innovation with materials in the craft realm. Our intention is to expose a diverse variety of media/techniques that will link yesterday’s tradition to its contemporary context, and the artists who are taking craft skills into the future.

NOTE: All analogue mediums will be considered. We are looking for alternative work that pushes the boundaries of traditional techniques.

Gallery 918 is an exhibition space dedicated to community enrichment through the visual arts. As a vibrant part of the cultural mandate of 918 Bathurst Centre, the gallery exhibits professional artists at various stages of their career / development, as well as the work of students and community organizations.

Submissions should include:

1. A detailed project description (including artist statement if applicable)

2. Installation and technical requirements (including diagrams if applicable)

3. Current curriculum vitae

4. Support material illustrating the project

5. 5 – 10 jpegs of your previous work

6. Full contact information

7. Non-refundable submission fee of $30 paid via cash, cheque, money order, PayPalto, or interac email money transfer to same address (set password as : craftcall)

Please feel free to include publications, press clippings or other information that is relevant to your proposal. URLs of web sites are also welcome.
