Open Call For Residency Programme At Kintai Arts Arts Residence For 2020<\/p>\n
Kintai Arts Residence is announcing an open call for emerging and established artists
\nworking in the field of visual arts to apply for a residency programme in Kintai,
\nLithuania.<\/p>\n
Kintai Arts Residence is a rather new artistic initiative located on the coast of the
\nCuronian Lagoon, Lithuania. Its goal is to provide spaces for artists coming from various
\nfields (music, visual or interdisciplinary) to work solitary or in active social conditions,
\nencouraging encounters with contemporary art practices outside of urban cultural
\ncenters.<\/p>\n
This elaborate initiative seeks to create a productive environment for inspiration and
\nconcentration as well as establishing close cooperation between artists, musicians,
\nthinkers, and professionals from other cultural fields through interdisciplinary
\nprogrammes and residencies. As a knowledge-based platform for innovative creative
\nproduction, Kintai Arts Residence inte grates the social and cultural framework of
\nKlaip\u00c4\u2014da region while simultaneously supporting a strong international focus.
\nLocated in a small rural town of a few-hundred people, the Residence is currently
\ninviting artists to develop their visual projects. Kintai Arts also organizes Kintai Music
\nFestival that in 2020 will be taking place for the 9 th time. Kintai itself is a quiet town
\nclosely connected to the surrounding nature. With an hour drive or trip by boat, one can
\nreach world-renowned natural landscapes of Curonian Spit, the city of Klaip\u00c4\u2014da, or stroll
\naround the uncanny landscapes of Lithuania Minor.<\/p>\n
This open call is for residencies in the timeframe of May\u00e2\u20ac\u201cJune and 6 September\u00e2\u20ac\u201c6
\nOctober. There are 7 rooms with individual or shared bathrooms and kitchens, shared
\nstudios and a possibility to do a public presentation or an exhibition in the two main halls
\nor other cities in Lithuania by arrangement.<\/p>\n
Any li ving, production or traveling expenses are to be covered by the artist-in-residence.
\nThe price for a room with personal bathroom and kitchen is 390 EUR per month<\/strong> (30
\ndays), with shared facilities \u00e2\u20ac\u201c 300 EUR per month<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
