MOVING BODY FESTIVAL
\nVarna, Bulgaria

\nCritical Moves is an international competition program in the frame of the Moving Body Festival with a focus on short screendance films.<\/p>\n
The mission of the Moving Body Platform is dedicated to connecting artists and audiences through art that shares a strong choreographic sensibility. How do we move? What makes us move? Towards what are we moving? How do we move from an individual towards a collective body shaping the future of history? How do we move in times of Catastrophe? These are the issues that underline any program selection.<\/p>\n
Focus<\/p>\n
We are searching for short films which represent experiments in video art mediums, and dance with strong choreographic sensibility and original concepts. Films that explore new audiovisual lines and challenge the viewer\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s perspective are very welcome to submit. The category is open to a wide range of genres, with a priority on experimental, but also narrative, social, and documentary.
\nThe future is made now and with our Open Call we would like to hear your strong critical voice, to see your imagination, to touch your intimate world – dreams and fears, hopes and despairs. What preoccupied your thoughts, what\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s making you feel grounded, and, after all, what makes you move today?<\/p>\n
Awards and prize<\/p>\n
Professionals are competing for the \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcJury Award – Best Dance Film\u00e2\u20ac\u2122, with a cash prize of 500 euro, and \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcEncouragement Awards\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 with a digital diploma for – Best collective body; Best individual body; Best use of location; Best choreography; Best low-budget; Most daring, and Audience choice. All the winners will receive special attention with an article or an interview in our rubric Translation on air.<\/p>\n
