Signal Culture is an experimental media arts organization, focusing on real time analog and digital processes.We\u2019ve moved to Loveland, Colorado and have been testing our facilities &#8211; now we\u2019re ready and excited to welcome residents from around the world again!<\/p>\n<p>Founded in 2012, Signal Culture is an environment where innovative artists, toolmakers, curators, critics, and art historians who are contributing to the field of experimental media art will have time and space to make new work and to interact with one another. We have welcomed over 450 residents from all over the US and about 25 countries. In addition to the residency program, we organize public exhibitions and produce resources for researchers and practitioners in the field of experimental media art as a way to expand support beyond the residency.<\/p>\n<p>Residency Categories<br \/>\n Make sure to familiarize yourself with the residency categories so that you can apply for the one that\u2019s the best fit for you. Descriptions of each of our residencies can be found on our website.<br \/>\nhttps:\/\/signalculture.org\/residency-program.html<\/p>\n<p>Eligibility<br \/>\nYou may apply for a residency category if you have not had a residency in that category in the previous 2 years (see categories above).<br \/>\nYou must be at least 21 years of age<\/p>\n<p>Cost<br \/>\nThere is no application fee<br \/>\nThere is no residency fee<br \/>\nResidents will be provided free housing and studio space during their residency<br \/>\nResidents are responsible for their own transportation, food, and costs of any supplies. <\/p>\n<p>What You\u2019ll Need to Apply<\/p>\n<p>Bio or a link to a CV<br \/>\nLinks to 2 work samples. We will not download videos. if you had a previous residency of the same category, one must be from your most recent residency in that category. We\u2019ll want to know a little about the work and your role in its production.<\/p>\n<p>Think generally about how you\u2019ll want to use time in a residency and whether you have any specific needs. You don\u2019t need to have a specific project in mind, and you don\u2019t have to complete a project during the residency.<\/p>\n<p>Review your calendar between October 2024 and January 2025, and be ready to select your available dates<\/p>\n<p>Collaborations<br \/>\nEach collaborator will need to apply with their own form<\/p>\n<p>Residents With Families<br \/>\nWe offer the option of residencies as short as a week to accommodate the fact that many residents have jobs, families, and other restrictions on their available time. Often, residents find getting away from day to day responsibilities to be a benefit of residencies, however we will provide a limited number of spaces for residents to bring families with them. We do not have baby gates, high chairs, extra beds, etc. You will be solely responsible for the safety and supervision of any children and for ensuring that they do not cause any damage or interfere with other residents.
