\nexhibition will be held from August1-31 2025 at Gallery HMH, Port Andratx – Mallorca | Spain<\/p>\n
Background
\nA23a calved from the Antarctic Filchner-Ronne Ice Shelf in 1986 and remained grounded
\nfor decades. After breaking free in 2000, ocean currents held it in place \u2013 until now.
\nRecent satellite images reveal its movement toward South Georgia, where it will encounter warmer waters, break into smaller icebergs, and eventually melt. Spanning 4,000 square
\nkilometers, its surface has been shaped by waves and weather, forming arches and
\nhollowed-out cavities.
\nThe Project
\nAll submitted artworks will be put together to form a massive iceberg sculpture,
\nsymbolizing the fragility of our planet\u2019s polar regions. The final piece will be exhibited at
\nGaleria HMH In Port Andratx, Mallorca, from August 1 \u201331, 2025, and featured in an
\nonline catalog. Galeria HMH will will also add the exhibition to the Artfacts database.
\nThe first work of art to arrive will be the \u2018tip of the iceberg\u2019 sculpture and will be
\nmentioned separately in the press release!<\/p>\n
