AMAZ\u00d3NICA Artist-in-Residence
\nOPEN CALL 2026<\/p>\n

We are excited to announce the open call for the AMAZ\u00d3NICA Artists-in-Residence program, organized by Correlaci\u00f3n Contempor\u00e1nea in the heart of the Peruvian Amazon. This is a unique opportunity for artists, scholars, and creative professionals to immerse themselves in one of the world\u2019s most biodiverse regions and develop projects that engage deeply with culture, nature, and communities.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s the program about?
\nAMAZ\u00d3NICA offers a 4-week residency in Iquitos, Peru (either May or September 2026), where selected participants will explore topics such as the Amazon rainforest, biodiversity, indigenous and urban Amazon culture, decolonization, and intercultural dialogue.
\nIt invites visual artists, performers, musicians, researchers, curators, and interdisciplinary creators from around the world.<\/p>\n

What you\u2019ll receive:
\nAccommodation and work space: private and shared rooms in a central residence in Iquitos and optional forest cabins in the rainforest.
\nEngagement with local and indigenous communities.
\nWorkshops, talks, and cultural immersion guided by local curators and artists.
\nA creative, intercultural environment far from everyday routines \u2014 perfect to recharge, reflect, and make bold artistic leaps.<\/p>\n

Who should apply?
\nIf your work explores or could develop in dialogue with the Amazon region, its ecosystems, urban and rural Amazonian life, indigenous knowledge, migration, ecology, or intercultural perspectives \u2014 we\u2019d love to hear from you! The program is open to national and international practitioners across creative disciplines.<\/p>\n

Important details:
\nResidency periods: May 3-31 or Sept 1-29, 2026.
\nOpen call begins every September; applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until capacity is filled. Spots are limited \u2014 apply early to increase your chance!<\/p>\n
