AVANCA 2013 Film Festival<\/strong>
\nSubmissions to the International Competition are now open<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

– Fiction and animation short-films;
\n– Fiction and animation feature films;
\n– Documentaries;
\n– Experimental videos;<\/p>\n

Only films made after 1st of January 2011 are eligible to enter the competition.<\/p>\n

AVANCA Film Festival is a space full of images, films, workshops, conferences, exhibitions, ideas and people around of the world.<\/p>\n

Last year: 21 films in world premiere; 64 films in national premiere; films from over 69 countries; 18049 spectators; participants from 30 countries; 10 days of festival; 5 days of International Competition; 5 workshops; 141 conferences.<\/p>\n

\nFree registration<\/p>\n

1 – Objective
\nThe objective is to trace a global perspective of the contemporary features in cinema, television, video
\nand multimedia.<\/p>\n

2 – Conditions of Admission
\nWorks admitted for selection must join the following conditions:
\n– Be produced after January 1, 2011;
\n– Unreleased in Portugal.
\n– Not available on the web.
\nRegistrations in the following categories are admitted:
\nCINEMA: short and feature films in fiction and animation;
\nTELEVISION: documentaries;
\nVIDEO: experimental videos of less than 20 minutes;<\/p>\n

3. Submission
\nThe works should be registered until April 29
\nth
\n, 2013 (stamp date) with the registration form, sent by email
\nor post. The registration form must be sent along with a CD with pictures of the film and of the
\ndirector, synopsis and text or list of the dialogues (in one of the following languages: Portuguese, English,
\nSpanish or French). This documents can also be sent by email or using www.wetransfer.com<\/a>
\nFor the selection, each candidate must send a preview on a DVD or a Blu-ray.
\n4 – Selection for competition
\nThe organization committee carries out the selection of the submitted works and informs the applicants
\nwith selected works.<\/p>\n

5 \u00e2\u20ac\u201c Prizes
\nA prize will be attributed to the best work of each category: Cinema (feature film), Cinema (short feature),
\nTelevision and Video.
\nPrizes, among others, will also be given to the best Animation, the best Actor\/Actress and the best
\nCinematography Direction.
\nIn the Cinema category (feature film), since only a maximum of 4 works are selected, all of them will
\nautomatically receive a special mention.
\nThe international jury is composed by cinema professionals invited by the organization.
\nThe selected films may be object of acquisition proposals for the Portuguese market (cinema, television
\nand video).<\/p>\n

6 \u00e2\u20ac\u201c World Premiere Prize
\nFilms that have their world premi\u00c3\u00a8re in the AVANCA 2013, independently of the submitted category, are
\nalso candidates to the World Premiere Special Prize.
\nThe candidates to this prize, while submitting their works, should contact the organization by e-mail
\ninforming it of their purpose.
\nThe organization will set deadlines for the delivery of screening and display material.<\/p>\n

7 – Transport and Insurance of Works
\nThe organization will inform the candidates with selected works and will give out instructions for the
\nshipment of final copies.
\nThe delivery of the works is of the candidates\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 responsibility.
\nThe organization is responsible for the insurance of the copies from their arrival to their return.
\nNote: The preview DVD and Blu-ray copies will not be sent back, for they will become part of the Festival
\nMediateque Archives. We guarantee they will not be used for commercial purposes.
\nThe selected works may be object of non-commercial exhibitions for the festival’s promotion.<\/p>\n

8 – Others
\nFestival languages are Portuguese and English.
\nAny possible doubt or questions that may arise will be clarified or solved by the Organization Committee<\/p>\n
