The forth edition of \u00e2\u20ac\u0153NOW&AFTER\u00e2\u20ac\u009d will take place from 2 to 30 of April 2014 at the State Museum of GULAG. www.gmig.ru\t<\/p>\n

Memory is a special human ability to accumulate the past and to keep it for the present and future, overcoming the oblivion. We suggest the artists to explore memory as a flexible structure that is migrating in time and space from person to person, from generation to generation, between social groups and nations, between cities and continents, between virtual and real world.
\nWhich memory features are important for us?
\nMemory as a process, memory in evolution, memory in search.
\nLost memory, returned memory.
\nLapses of the memory and continuous chain of memories.
\nMemory as a mechanism of past actualization.
\nAutobiographic memory and collective memory.
\nMemories about things that never happened and those that are only going to happen.
\nMemory as a premonition of unpredictable future and as a precursor of eternal present.
\nMemory as a stop in time and a leap in time.
\nMemory in the virtual space.
\nThe site of memory and memory of the site.
\nMemory of the loss and the loss of memory.<\/p>\n

In 2014 “Now&After” festival is being held at the State Museum of GULAG \u00e2\u20ac\u201c a place that has accumulated the memories of Stalin’s punitive system. In the area of our special interest there is a traumatic memory: reliving and rethinking of the historical traumas, especially those related to the history of GULAG.<\/p>\n

Founding director and curator of “Now & After” is Marina Fomenko.<\/p>\n

There is no entry fee.
\nAll rights on videos remain property of authors.
\nSubmitted videos must have been completed after January 1, 2011.
\nRunning time is up to 10 min.
\nEntry form must be completed online.
\nEach applicant may send maximum 3 submissions.
\nAll the films selected for the competition program will be considered by the jury.
