It is organized in Bergen,  Norway, and involves participants from more than a dozen countries exchanging ideas, coding, presenting art and software projects, doing workshops, performances and discussions on the aesthetics and politics of free technologies, free culture &#038; art.<\/p>\n<p>Piksel16, ZERO-level, wants to focus on the biological and social aspects of the sea as a sustainable environment. Zero in the meaning of: zero-emissions, zerofootprints, zero-waste, zero-energy,<br \/>\nzero-pollution, zero-plastic, zero-trash. Also Zero encourages bioefficiency, bioecology, marine inheritance, sustainable maritim transport, sea communication, civil society, water as a playground, and civil engagement.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; &#8211;<\/p>\n<p>open CALL for PROJECTS<\/p>\n<p>For the exhibition and other parts of the program we currently seek projects in the following categories:<\/p>\n<p>1. Installations<\/p>\n<p>Projects to be included in the exhibitions.<br \/>\nThe works must be realized by the use of free and open source<br \/>\ntechnologies. For Piksel16 we specially encourage projects in the field<br \/>\nof DIY BIOart and renewable\/sustainable technologies to apply.<\/p>\n<p>2. Audiovisual performance<\/p>\n<p>Live art realized by the use of free software and\/or open\/DIY<br \/>\nhardware.<\/p>\n<p>3. Presentations<\/p>\n<p>Innovative DIY\/open hardware and audiovisual software tools or software<br \/>\nart released under a free\/open license. (Also includes presentations of<br \/>\nartistic projects realized using free\/open technologies.) For Piksel16<br \/>\nwe specially encourage projects in the field of DIY BIOart and<br \/>\nrenewable\/sustainable technologies to apply.<\/p>\n<p>4. Workshops<\/p>\n<p>Hands on workshops utilizing free software and\/or open\/DIY hardware for<br \/>\nartistic use. For Piksel16 we specially encourage projects in the field<br \/>\nof DIY BIOart and renewable\/sustainable technologies to apply.<\/p>\n<p>5. PikselSavers<\/p>\n<p>Video and software art based on the screensaver format \u00e2\u20ac\u201c short<br \/>\naudiovisual (non)narratives made for endless looping. Possible thematic<br \/>\nfields  includes but are not limited to: sustainable resource<br \/>\nallocation, renewable technologies, energy harvesting, fair trade<br \/>\nhardware, free content, open access, open data, DIY economy, shared<br \/>\ndevelopment.
