Up to 6-month artist-in-residence<br \/>\nfellowships are available for the period January 1, 2017\u00e2\u20ac\u201cJuly 30, 2017.<\/p>\n<p>The ARTEC Artist-in-Residence Program is intended for media artists and<br \/>\nmedia technologists who are interested in contributing their work to<br \/>\nAdressaparken, an interactive installation outdoor park in the heart of<br \/>\nTrondheim, the technology capital of Norway<br \/>\n(https:\/\/www.ntnu.edu\/thepark\/). The aim of the fellowship is to explore<br \/>\nthe public and creative uses of the Adressaparken infrastructure. The<br \/>\nartist(s)-in-residence will use Adressaparken as both a laboratory and<br \/>\nan exhibition space in order to experiment with digital storytelling and<br \/>\nnew ways of communicating art, technology, and the humanities in a<br \/>\npublic sphere. The artist is also expected to explore on the concept of<br \/>\nCreative Placemaking (https:\/\/www.ntnu.edu\/web\/thepark\/tutorial) in<br \/>\ntheir proposal. This page also includes a document describing the parks<br \/>\ninfrastructure and hardware.<\/p>\n<p>The fellowship will provide access to the workshops, laboratories and<br \/>\nequipment needed for the project work; instruction in the use of the<br \/>\nnecessary equipment and software; and project supervision for technical<br \/>\naspects and project content. The grant is managed by NTNU<br \/>\nARTEC.<\/p>\n<p>ARTEC artist-in-residence fellowship offers<\/p>\n<p>A stipend of up to 10000 Euro for up to 6 months (possibly prorated for<br \/>\nmultiple fellows), which can be used for travel and research and the<br \/>\nproduction of the project Accommodation Access to and use of<br \/>\nAdressaparken (following training) Shared studio and workshop<br \/>\nfacilities, including video or audio analog and digital equipment for<br \/>\npresentation and production Technical and administrative support NTNU<br \/>\nlibrary access Exhibition space and opportunities Interdisciplinary and<br \/>\ncreative working environment Candidate Qualifications<\/p>\n<p>The ideal candidate will be an artist who has sufficient experience with<br \/>\ncreative coding and\/or hacking, preferably on an open-source platform,<br \/>\nand experience in public, interactive art projects. Emerging,<br \/>\nmid-career, and established local or international artists from a range<br \/>\nof fields (visual, sound, etc.) are invited to apply.<\/p>\n<p>The successful artist-in-residence will be required to<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2  Give two artist talks in the middle and toward the end of the<br \/>\nprogram<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2  Complete a public digital artwork at Adressaparken before the<br \/>\nconclusion of fellowship<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2  Document their process of artistic research and development.<\/p>\n<p>Application Guidelines<\/p>\n<p>Applications (up to 10 MB total) should be submitted electronically by<br \/>\nOctober 15, 2016, via<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kit.ntnu.no\/en\/content\/application-artist-residency-ntnu\" target=\"_blank\">https:\/\/www.kit.ntnu.no\/en\/content\/application-artist-residency-ntnu<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The application must include all of the following:<\/p>\n<p>Project proposal (maximum 1000 words) including a detailed description<br \/>\nof work to be completed during the residency (preferably with visual,<br \/>\nsound, or mix media materials, if applicable) Tentative budget Timeline<br \/>\nof completion (in English) CV (in English) Artistic portfolio (up to 10<br \/>\nrelevant works)<\/p>\n<p>Selection Procedure<\/p>\n<p>The ARTEC artist(s)-in-residence will be selected by an ARTEC committee<br \/>\nconsisting of its board members. Shortlisted candidates for the<br \/>\nresidency will be notified by October 31, 2016. Final decision of the<br \/>\nwinner\/s will be announced on November 7, 2016.<\/p>\n<p>Results or Output of the Residency<\/p>\n<p>The results \/ output developed and documented as part of this residency<br \/>\nwill be accessible and stay at Adressaparken. All equipment and<br \/>\nmaterials purchased as part of this residency is expected to remain at<br \/>\nAdressaparken or at the host institutions.<\/p>\n<p>About ARTEC<\/p>\n<p>The Art and Technology Task Force (ARTEC) is a diverse group of<br \/>\nresearchers and artists from across fields and departments at the<br \/>\nNorwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU).
