Transart MFA<\/p>\n
Summer residencies in Berlin and winter in New York City are the
\ncollective core of a graduate program in trans-disciplinary art with
\none-on-one advisement during the academic year.<\/p>\n
The international and flexible program\u00e2\u20ac\u201ddesigned to provide a protected
\nspace for experimentation, risk and the free exchange of ideas\u00e2\u20ac\u201dis based on
\nthe assumption that each student (and not any \u00e2\u20ac\u0153educator\u00e2\u20ac\u009d ) is the expert
\non where artistic practice might lead.<\/p>\n

Transart Studio PhD<\/p>\n
Our PhD recognizes your art practice as research and was created out of a
\npragmatic desire to alter the way artists think, speak and write about
\ntheir work. It fosters a subtle but crucial shift to acknowledge that
\nimagination, creative thinking and problem solving, and the ebb and flow
\nof making and\/or social action are important and vital forms of knowledge
\nthemselves.<\/p>\n
And that by thinking differently about what we do changes what we do.<\/p>\n
The Transart PhD creates a forum in which your research\u00e2\u20ac\u201dthe artwork and
\nthe ideas that precede, accompany and follow\u00e2\u20ac\u201dis nurtured, challenged and
\nabove all encouraged. Our a-disciplinary model is designed to enrich
\nartists\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 praxis; foster change; facilitate a connection between group and
\nindividual work; provide the means for contextualizing work in the wider
\nworld; and develop interactive strategies with audiences.<\/p>\n

Summer Academy<\/p>\n
Guest artists and curators attend the summer academy to get a creative
\nsurge, revitalize their practice, gain fresh perspectives on their work,
\nexperiment in a protected, supportive environment and\/or to strike out in
\nnew directions. They are typically mid-career artists and curators who
\nwish to join graduate and doctoral students in workshops, lectures,
\ncritiques, exhibitions, and events. Transart can help you design a
\nself-study program, support your praxis and advise you on an MFA or PhD
\nproposal. Transartists continue to exhibit, publish, perform and discuss
\nwith their international community.<\/p>\n
