VIDEOART & NEW MEDIA AUDIO-VISUAL ART OPEN CALL
\nSpain and International\/
\nIt is left open without restrictions
\na call to select, by means of a criteria in which will be valued
\nparticularly the experimentation, the innovation and the
\nrisk, the creations of all those audio-visual and video artists
\nwho wish to participate and that their works are part of
\nMADATAC\/TRANSMADATAC project.<\/p>\n
This project is dedicated to exhibit and promote Video
\nArt and Audio Visual-Art in all its modalities, any processes
\nof image-sound interaction, without exclusion of
\ninstallations, performances and new media art works, with
\nthe aim to disclose to the great public a view of the
\nconsolidated artists as well to offer a platform for all those
\nemergent New Media Art artists with a future projection who
\ncontribute with renewing proposals, avoid conventional
\nvisual language and does not find their place in other art and
\nmass media spaces.<\/p>\n
All the received material will enter, unless the authors
\nexpress the contrary, in the selection for the 9th edition of
\nMADATAC, the Acontemporary Audio-Visual & New Media
\nArts Festival, that Transfera Media Arts will organize in
\nJanuary 2018 in Madrid, Spain. This event will serve to prize
\nthe best videos and installations among the ones selected by
\nan international jury.<\/p>\n

\n.OFFICIAL INTERNATIONAL COMPETITIVE SECTION
\nFive awards of a cutting-edge sculpture and diplomas,
\ncreated by the Spanish sculptor Juan Ram\u00c3\u00b3n Mart\u00c3\u00adn, with the
\ninternacional artistic and professional recognition implicit in
\nreceiving this already prestigious award, besides forming
\npart of the works selected to represent MADATAC in diverse
\nworldwide special programs and events:
\n.BEST VIDEO ART WORK AWARD
\n.MOST INNOVATIVE INSTALLATION AWARD
\n.MOST PROMISING VIDEO ARTIST AWARD
\n.BEST VISUAL-AURAL INTERACTION AWARD
\n.SPECIAL JURY AWARD
\n. MADATAC NEW MEDIA ART INSTALLATION AWARD
\n.It will consist in the selection and exhibition, during the
\ncelebration of MADATAC festival, of one or more New Media
\nArt audiovisual installations presented within the official
\nregistration form.
\n.It is understood by works of New Media Art those who
\nmake use of new digital technologies medium, including
\namong other digital art, electronic art, robotic art,
\nmultimedia art, interactive art and video projection
\nmapping.
\n.The award, in addition to a trophy, with be provided with
\nan endowment of 600\u00e2\u201a\u00ac (six hundred euros) to cover the
\ncosts of exhibition, mounting plus transportation of the work
\nand\/or of the artist, if his\/her presence will be needed for
\nthe installation process.<\/p>\n
\nAUDIOVISUAL WORK
\n.By means of a special jury, MADATAC will select an artist
\nfrom among all the participants that have submitted a work
\nthrough the registration form to the International Official
\nSection, and reward him\/her with a fellowship in residence
\nat the CASA DE VEL\u00c3\u0081ZQUEZ de Madrid for a period of 1
\nmonth during the first half of 2018, as well as a production
\ngrant of 1.500\u00e2\u201a\u00ac (a thousand five hundred euros), for the
\ncosts of travel, per diem and accomplishment of a work of
\naudiovisual art\/video art.
\n.The interested parties must enclose in a separate document
\nthe project that will be realized during the residence.
\n.At the end of the stay, the artist shall deliver three copies
\nfrom an total edition of five, of the art piece realized during
\nhis\/her residency, keeping all the rights of the work. Of
\nthese three copies, one will become part of MADATAC
\nInternational Artistic Archive, that reserves the exclusive
\nright to exhibit it in the following edition, while the two
\nremaining copies will be one for the cultural heritage of the
\nCASA DE VEL\u00c3\u0081ZQUEZ, and the other will become part of the
\ncollector\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s fund that sponsors this production scholarship
\nand whose name will be announced in due course.<\/p>\n
\nDOME OF THE MADRID NH EUROBUILDING HOTEL
\n. To participate send works with a duration of 7 to 10
\nminutes, with a resolution of 960 x 304 and abstract
\nthemes, preferably in color, with little presence of white and
\nnever as a background color, completed the registration
\nform plus the documentation requested on the call.
\n. Will be chosen the works that best suit the format of the
\ndome and premiere and exhibited there on January and
\nduring the year 2018.<\/p>\n
\nCINEMA 4D OF THE MADRID NH EUROBUILDING HOTEL
\n. To participate send works with a duration not superior to
\n10 minutes, with a minimum HD resolution of 1920X1080
\nand with a free themes, preferably done in 3D animation or
\nsimilar technique, in color, and rigorously black background,
\nwith the regi s t ration form completed plus the
\ndocumentation requested on the call.
\n. Will be chosen the works that best suit the format of the
\ndome and premiere and exhibited there on January and
\nduring the year 2018.<\/p>\n
\nRESIDENT IN SPAIN
\n.In addition to the announced calls, also is open the
\nselection of audiovisual artists for concerts and Live AV
\nperformances (VJing, live cinema, expanded cinema, etc)
\nwhich will take place during the celebration of MADATAC in
\nMadrid and could be included in the partnership projects
\nthat MADATAC is carrying out with different international
\npartner festivals.
\n.To participate it is necessary to submit a completed
\nregistration form, plus the material requested on the bases
\nof the call.
\n.Transfera\/Madatac will fix with the artist the payment of a
\nfee for the performance.
\n.BASES AND INSCRIPTION
\n. The participants must send their works, preferable not to
\nexceed the 20\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 although we made exceptions if the video
\nmerits it until 90\u00e2\u20ac\u2122, in mov or mp4 files, not DVD-Video, with
\na quality for broadcasting, a resolution preferably HD
\n(1920×1080 or more). Do not send preview videos on low
\nquality. Only original or copies thereof.
\n. Links to download or preview the video files from web sites
\nare not accepted, but it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s possible to send the documents by
\na Internet large file-transfer service as Wetransfer, Google
\nDrive or similar to: info@madatac.es<\/a>
\n. If for some reason you could not submit the documentation
\nby this means, such as for example that the size of the
\ndigital works exceed 2 GB, will be accepted the shipment of
\nthe material in a pen-drive or hard disk by postal mail to the
\naddress listed at the end of the call.
\n. A filled and signed registration form agreement on a digital
\nfiles such as DOC or PDF (has to be filled by computer not
\nhandwritten and paper copies are not more accepted), in
\nwhich you give screening and broadcast permission and
\nmust assume the authorship of the submitted work, with a
\nfinal signature by hand, not typed.
\n. The text of the synopsis of the submitted works should
\npreferably be in English and Spanish.
\n. Although MADATAC searches for no spoken audio-visual
\nworks, it is mandatory Spanish\/English subtitles if there are
\nwords, text or dialog in another language, that also should
\nbe send on a separate digital document as PDF or DOC.
\n. Two high quality JPG stills of the video on 300dpi.
\n. A brief CV on DOC or PDF.
\n. There are not restrictions for the age of the participants,
\nnor for the amount of material desired to send.
\n. Optionally, the interested can also send a brief promotional
\nvideo about themselves and their work (not more than 4\u00e2\u20ac\u2122).
\n. There is no criteria as to the subject of the works, (we
\naccept works created with new media and digital
\ntechnologies such as video art, interactive art, multimedia
\ndigital art, computer art, media art, live cinema, found
\nfootage, video installation, audio-visual performance,
\nhuman-machine interaction, technological art creation, bioart,
\netc), though MADATAC 9th edition will be freely
\ncentered on the concept:
\nINTERACTIVE \/ OUTERACTIVE<\/p>\n
\nrewarded in any other festival or event that take place in
\nSpain 4 months before, or during the celebration of
\nMADATAC, in order to maintain some exclusivity of the work.
\n. This year deadline is September 4th, 2017.
\nThe works received later will be accepted whenever the
\npostmark reflects the fixed date.The selection will be
\nnotified to all participants on November.
\n. The organization cannot return the sent material.
\n. Participation in this project implies the acceptance of all its
\nrules.
