Web Residencies With Grant By Solitude & Zkm<\/strong><\/p>\n Call No.3 for Web Residencies 2017 \u00c2\u00bbAn AI Summer\u00c2\u00ab<\/p>\n I am an I, a computational I. The third joint call for Web Residencies by Solitude & ZKM in 2017 is curated by Nora O Murch\u00c3\u00ba who invites artists from all disciplines, designers, engineers, or scientists (alone or in teams) to speculate and experiment on the potentials and possibilities of AI.<\/p>\n We welome work that invents alternative-value algorithmic systems, calls attention to the subtleties of social life, explores how we may see with the machine or how we may carefully model and train a machine.<\/p>\n Applicants can address AI as a topic or employ AI methods in the creation of the work. All types of work are accepted: websites, videos, writing, 3-D objects, music, or applications.<\/p>\n FORMAT APPLICATION GRANT TIMELINE JUROR SUBMIT WEB RESIDENCIES The Web Residencies program was initiated by Akademie Schloss Solitude in 2016 to support young talents from the international digital scene as well as artists of all disciplines who deal with Web-based practices to present the process and results of their work online.<\/p>\n Residencies focus not on the finished art piece, but rather on process. Artists are invited to experiment with digital technologies and new art forms on the surface of digital art and communication, and reflect on the topics set by the curators.<\/p>\n Web Residencies are carried out exclusively online, and the works will be presented on schloss-post.com and web-residencies.zkm.de.<\/p>\n Former Solitude fellows or students may apply. There is no age limit.

\nSubmit your project proposal in the form of:

\n\u00e2\u20ac\u201c a concept text in English (1,000\u00e2\u20ac\u201c1,500 characters with spaces)
\n\u00e2\u20ac\u201c a header image (high resolution, landscape format)
\n\u00e2\u20ac\u201c a short bio in English (500 characters with spaces)
\n\u00e2\u20ac\u201c a portfolio PDF (images, text, links)<\/p>\n
\nFor each call, the curator selects four project proposals, whose creators are rewarded with a four-week residency and 500 USD.<\/p>\n

\nThe international artist residency Akademie Schloss Solitude and the ZKM | Center for Art and Media award Web Residencies three times a year.<\/p>\n
\nApplicants for the Web Residencies are welcome to participate in a maximum of three calls. Different projects must be submitted for each call.<\/p>\n
