\nThe 2018 competition covers animation of different kinds, including all traditional and experimental techniques, such as stop motion and all its versions, 3D, motion graphics, animated cartoons etc., video art and experimental video production from Latin America and all over the world. Works participating in the competition, apart from being nominated for awards, may be included in the festival’s official selection or special selections.
\nThe festival invites all individuals and groups, regardless of age, religion (or lack thereof), sexual preference, education or profession.
\nEach author or group may submit more than one video.<\/p>\n

\nThe competition may be declared void, at the discretion of the jury.
\nBesides the winner, the jury will also choose the festival’s official selection, which will participate in exchange
\nprograms and international screenings.
\nApart from the official selection, the organizing committee is also authorized to compile special curatorial
\nselections, focused on a common theme, upon request from different partner events, as part of the
\ninternational exchange program. The authors of the selected videos will be informed of the participation of their
\nworks in special selections.<\/p>\n
\nDEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION: AUGUST 31, 2018.
\nWe only accept single-channel videos.
\nThe competing videos need not be previously unseen. However, they must have been created in the
\nlast 3 years.
\nMaximum length (including credits): 15 minutes.
\nLanguages: Videos with spoken or written text in a language other than Spanish or English must be subtitled
\nin either of those two languages (preferably in both).
\nReproduction and distribution rights: By submitting their videos to the festival, the authors automatically
\nagree to the festival\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s right to reproduce, distribute and screen said material, which will be subject to the rules
\nof Creative Commons (mode: Attribution-Noncommercial-ShareAlike 2.5:
\nhttp:\/\/creativecommons.org\/licenses\/by-nc-sa\/2.5\/)<\/p>\n
\nauthorship of the videos submitted. The prize will be awarded to the person named on the registration form as
\nthe individual responsible for the project, or to another participant of the project unanimously assigned by the
\nproduction group.
\nPseudonyms: The name of the author of the video (or individual responsible) may be replaced by a
\npseudonym on the entry form, should the contestant so wish.
\nVideos may be presented with the highest quality and lowest compression possible via internet. The
\nparticipating video must be available for online preview on YouTube, Vimeo, Festhome, Movibeta, Click for
\nFestivals, Film Salad, or other video server or online festival platform. If you prefer to restrict access to your
\nvideo, protect it with a password and send us the password together with the link.
\nParticipants must send the completed registration form, including the online link to their video, as an
\nattachment to the following e-mail address: festivalvideobabel@gmail.com<\/a>. If an artist wishes to submit more
\nthan one video, one registration form for each work should be completed. The registration form is available in
\nMicrosoft Word format here.
\nThe authors of the selected videos (winners, official selection and special selections) will be asked to
\nsend, via internet and within a week of selection, a copy of their work in standard format *.mov or *.mp4 with
\nthe highest quality and lowest compression possible, a maximum size of 2 GB, frame height 720 px. Authors
\nwill receive detailed instructions regarding the method for sending their work. The sending of work selected via
\nthe Internet will be free to the authors.<\/p>\n

\n\u00ef\u201a\u00b7 Technical quality and skill.<\/p>\n
\nThe festival prizes will be awarded by an international jury.
\nCommittee decisions are final and not open to appeal.<\/p>\n
\nThe festival final ceremony, with the announcement of the winners, will be held in the city of Cusco, Peru, in
\nNovember 2018.<\/p>\n
\nThe winning videos will be publicized and screened to the public free of charge by the festival partner
\ninstitutions and in different countries, as well as in other video art and film events.
\nThe festival undertakes to promote and credit the authors of the videos during the video screenings.
\nBy submitting their videos to the festival, participants automatically accept the conditions set out in
\nthis document. Any situation not covered by these guidelines shall be resolved by the organizers of
\nthe festival and their decision will be final.<\/p>\n
