It intends to promote works which combine dance and film techniques as well as elements from performance, music, digital media and fine art in the medium of video in a cross-genre work. Its aim is to establish this highly international art form Screendance not only in the city of Freiburg and the county, but also in the triangular region Freiburg-Basel-Mulhouse as well as in Germany and abroad internationally.<\/p>\n<p>Films and videos should not be simply documentaries or recordings of a dance piece or live performance.<\/p>\n<p>For the first edition of the Festival we accept works in the following three categories: <\/p>\n<p>1)            National-German-films with 1 to 10-minutes length<\/p>\n<p>2)            International films with 1 to 10-minutes length<\/p>\n<p>3)            \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcWilis \u00e2\u20ac\u201c Nature spirits from the Black Forest\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 with 5-minutes length<br \/>\nFilms which resonate with the theme \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcWilis \u00e2\u20ac\u201c Nature spirits from the Black Forest\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 with a maximum of 5-minutes length. (The theme is inspired by the mythological figure Wilis from the romantic ballet Giselle. A unique and specific view in terms of the interpretation of this theme is appreciated.)<\/p>\n<p>From each category one film will be awarded the Newcomeras fund, as well as an audience price.<\/p>\n<p>The 1st INTERNATIONAL SCREENDANCE FESTIVAL FREIBURG is initiated by the dance department of Theater Freiburg by Dr. Adriana Almeida Pees (head of the dance department and curator) in cooperation with Marisa C. Hayes and Franck Boul\u00c3\u00a8gue, two Screendance experts and the founders of the Festival International de Vid\u00c3\u00a9o Danse de Bourgogne.
