Call description :
La Guarimba joins forces with GIPHY Arts to give the BEST GIF AWARD 2020. The contest is open to any artist who can create original GIFs.

Due to the global pandemic caused by Covid-19, the festival is pending for the Italian government’s decision regarding the cultural events scheduled for the summer. The VIII edition of La Guarimba International Film Festival should be held this year from 7th to 12th August 2020 in Amantea (Calabria, Southern Italy). The competition program includes more than 170 short films from all over the world.

“Bringing the cinema back to the people and the people to the cinema”, is the goal of La Guarimba, a goal that this year seems essential like never before. Thanks to GIPHY we will also be extending our mission online, offering the opportunity to artists worldwide to express themselves and be showcased on our open-air 12-meter screen.

To join, simply create a GIPHY account, upload your GIF masterpiece, and tag it #LaGuarimba2020 for a chance to win $500! All eligible submissions will be made available on giphy.com/laguarimba channel and a selection will be screened this summer during La Guarimba.
