The Intermedia Department of Jan Matejko Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków invites you to compose a 1-minute audiovisual work inspired by the sound of Sigismudn Bell (in attachment) with the reference to the 500th anniversary of the bell suspension at the Wawel Cathedral on July 9 – 13, 2021. From 500 audiovisual works we will arrange an multimedia spectacle performed live around Wawel Castle or other selected places of Krakow city on the anniversary of the Sigismund Bell.

Please send files through wetransfer/dropbox/google etc. till June 15, 2021 to the email address: Zygmunt500x1@gmail.com. Please write also a short description of the artist who created the work (no longer than one sentence). There is no limit of submitted works.

On the 9th of July 1521, 500 years ago, the Sigismund Bell was suspended on the tower of Wawel Cathedral in Kraków. On July 13th 1521 it rang for the first time. The bell was founded by Hans Beham and named after Polish king Sigismund I the Old, who commissioned it. It is regarded to be the most important bell in Poland’s history.

The submission of the work is an equivalent of its personal authorization.
