2015 Bioart Seoul Exhibition:
Open Calls For Works “Visualising Life Science”

About the Exhibition

“Abundance of Lifeâ•™ is the theme of this yearâ•’s Bio-Art Exhibition organized by Seoul National University Medicinal Bioconvergence Research Center (Biocon) in collaboration with the Digital Art Weeks International. The event hopes to showcase a selection of artists from around the world whose work covers a broad spectrum of artwork that connects to life sciences in truly creative ways.

The word “abundance” refers to a very large quantity or to a state or condition of having a copious quantity of something. Nature is in abundance and this plenitude reflects one key issue about life. The opportunity to submit works for exhibition extends to all artists and illustrators whose work reflects the theme of the exhibition in any form or fashion and where possible also shows scientific research as a converging factor in the arts.

Submission

All selected works will be exhibited in th e National Science Museum in Seoul South Korea from 5 to 15 November in an exclusive exhibition dedicated to art and the life sciences. A total of six awards with cash prizes (circa 1000 USD per award) will be given to the best works in six categories and all selected submissions will be exhibited amongst works by leading artists of international renown.

To submit your work, please send image(s) of the work (not the original) in .png or .jpeg format. Submission can be single image or a series of images. However, the submission mail including all images may mot not exceed 10mb. Paintings, photography, illustrations, posters and graphics, video (including screenshots), and informative graphics (comics) are all welcomed for submission. The deadline for submitting works is 1 October 2015.

Please sent images to the following email address:

The organizers of the Bio-Art Contest and Exhibition have taken an approach that allows for the acceptance the maximum number of artworks possible, and it will not be possible for the organizers of the exhibition to send works back to the artists who created them. Therefore, all works submitted to the contest will become part of the Bio-Art Collection of Biocon.
