Stop!
it is a project with the aim of opening a network to document the current period of this Italy in stop, through visual and sound arts of artists scattered throughout the country.
Italy stopped with the arrival of the 2019-nCoV coronavirus from Wuhan, an increasing number of victims in an investment-poor public health system, facing prisons, a huge economic problem, many workers’ doubts about holidays , leave, social safety nets.
It seems that the only positive thing about this epidemic is that the measures taken to deal with the emergency have allowed a drastic reduction in smog.
How do today’s artists experience this stalemate? Does it have an impact on their research and their work?
Each artist is required a two-dimensional work of 12x12cm with the possibility of using each technique or medium + a 30-second audio track which can be a field recording, a speech, a sound or music file.
Proposals that formalize a research and that take into account the latest developments of the contemporary will be taken into consideration.
All the selected works will be part of an online exhibition, “open” from 28 March here

Stop!
è un progetto con l’obiettivo di aprire una rete per documentare il periodo attuale di questa Italia in stop, attraverso arti visive e sonore di artisti sparsi per il paese.
L’Italia si è fermata con l’arrivo del coronavirus 2019-nCoV da Wuhan, un numero crescente di vittime in un sistema di sanità pubblica carente di investimenti, rivolte nelle carceri, un’enorme problema economico, molti i dubbi dei lavoratori su ferie, congedi, ammortizzatori sociali.
Sembra che l’unica cosa positiva di questa epidemia è che le misure prese per far fronte all’emergenza, hanno permesso una drastica riduzione dello smog.
Come vivono gli artisti di oggi questo periodo di stallo? Ha impatto nella loro ricerca e nel loro lavoro?
Ad ogni artista è richiesta un’opera bidimensionale di 12x12cm con la possibilità di usare ogni tecnica o mezzo + una traccia audio di 30 secondi che può essere un field recording, un parlato, un file sonoro o musicale.
Verranno prese in considerazione le proposte che formalizzano una ricerca, e che tengono conto degli ultimi sviluppi del contemporaneo.
