2ndINTERNATIONAL SCREENDANCE FESTIVAL FREIBURG 2021
Screendance, also called Videodance or Cinedance, has become a booming, independent art form, yet in Germany it is still quite unknown.
Screendance is an interdisciplinary art form combining dance (most often contemporary practices), choreography and performance with film and the visual arts.
The 2ndINTERNATIONAL SCREENDANCE FESTIVAL FREIBURGwill take place from 27.05. –30.05.2021 in a hybrid form.
The festival intends to promote works which combine dance and film techniques as well as elements from performance, music, digital media, and fine art in the medium of video in a cross-genre work.It will present screendance films from South America and Germany. The films from South America will be selected by renowned leaders of local screendance festivals. A call for national screendance films is now open.
Open Call for the 2ndISDF 2021We are looking for screendance films by German residents(1 to 10-minutes length, not older than 2019)DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS: 24.01.2021 (12.00 p.m. CET)The submission process is electronic and films must be available to view on Dropbox, Vimeo, YouTube or another website. Please complete the submission form and send it to screendanceoffice@theater.freiburg.de.
Once selected, please note the ideal screening-format is DCP(mp4-or mov-format is also acceptable). We do not screen documentaries or recordings of live performances.
Films selected for screening will be shown at one of the three days of screenings during the festival from 27.05. –30.05.2021 at Theater Freiburg.
