Open Call: The Green Screen Festival 2026 – Video Art (Tarragona)

The festival will take place from November 6 to 13, 2026. The selected pieces will be screened on Friday, November 13, 2026, at Mèdol, Centre d’Arts Contemporànies de Tarragona (Spain).
In a time of urgent transformations, where the ecological crisis redefines the relations between humanity and territory, contemporary art emerges as an essential tool for critical thinking and action. The Green Screen 2026 establishes itself as a space for audiovisual reflection and experimentation that explores the potential of the environment as a subject, stage, and trigger for new narratives.
Video art, through its capacity to intertwine aesthetics, research, and commitment, offers a critical language from which to address the climate emergency, sustainability, biodiversity, ecology, politics, and interspecies relations, as well as other unavoidable topics.
We are opening the submission period for original video art pieces in all their forms: single-channel video art, video performance, experimental, narrative, abstract, etc.
Artist Fee: Each of the 5 selected pieces will receive €200 for screening rights.
Criteria: Creative quality, originality, and the message will be highly valued.
Eligibility: Open to individual artists, creative duos, or collectives over 18 years of age (Maximum of 1 work per applicant, produced from 2021 onwards, duration between 3 and 12 minutes).
