The exhibition will take place at VisArts on May 7-May 8. Submissions are due by April 15.
Frame & Frequency is an ongoing international film and video art screening series that highlights artists whose new media, experimental film, and video works explore contemporary visual culture. The exhibition presents an intimate panorama of the variety and breadth of video art in artistic practice today.
Frame & Frequency features a diverse group of artists representing multigenerational and cultural backgrounds, nationalities, and personal histories while demonstrating the artists’ impressive command of video and new media technologies.
Video, film, and new media work will be accepted: experimental, documentary, animation, narrative, non-narrative, multimedia, etc.
You may submit up to three works.
Videos must be in .mp4 file format.
Videos may be up to 30 minutes long.
Include resume/CV, artist bio (100 word limit), and artist statement (100 word limit).
All foreign language works must have subtitles.
All accepted entries will receive screening fees.
VisArts, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is a hub for the visual arts that engages nearly 30,000 visitors annually through contemporary art exhibitions, a studio artist program, art classes and camps, VisAbility Art Lab (a supported studio for artists with disabilities), community art programs, the annual Rockville Arts Festival, and event space. VisArts is in Rockville Town Square, three blocks from the Rockville Metro station, at 155 Gibbs Street, Rockville, Md. Galleries are open Wednesday-Thursday/Saturday-Sunday, 12-4 p.m. and Friday, 12-8 p.m. Exhibitions are free and open to the public.
