3rd International Festival of Experimental Video “Proceso de Error”

The works in the categories of video art, video dance, video performance, experimental film and animation will be accepted until April 14, 2016. In an unprecedented way, the event also will invited to submit proposals for the video installation, performance, and experimental photography.

The Festival “Proceso de Error”, organized by INVE – Experimental Platform for Arts, has established itself as an unique event in Chile that promotes research, production and dissemination of experimental video internationally. So that its third version, the contest not only opens its call for videos to display at the show, but also for performances and exhibitions to be held so prior to the event, to be held in Valparaíso from 31 May to 4 June 2016.

In its 2015 version, “Process of Error” received about 200 works from 35 countries such as Australia, Ireland, Italy, China, Japan, India, Serbia, Mexico, Bolivia and Ecuador, among others. “The themes, styles, modes of production, professionalism and creativity of the works received exceeded our expectations, it is for this reason that this year we have decided to extend our categories including experimental animation and adding the ability to send video projects , installation, performance, and experimental photography”, said Daniela Lillo, director of INVE.

For the Official Selection of the Festival, the call is open to international works in non-competitive categories of video art, video dance, video performance, experimental film and animation. Will be received videos made by individuals or groups of any origin, not to exceed 5 minutes (exceptionally 4 works of 12 minutes maximum will be selected) and all finished in digital.

Meanwhile, for the exhibition of “Changing Doors” to be held during the month of May at the Municipal Gallery of Valparaiso, chilean and international artists are invited to submit proposals for video-installation. The theme of the work to apply is free, nevertheless it is important to consider and reflect on formal or historical aspects of the gallery space.

Regulations and entry forms for both calls are available in www.inve.cl (section Calls), where son will be the information of the proposals for performances and photography published. The reception period will start from February 12 to April 14, 2016. The selected works will be announced on April 30 through the same website, which also will publish days and exhibition spaces.

The third version of the International Festival of Experimental Video “Proceso de Error” will be held in the city of Valparaiso between May 31 to June 4 of this year. This project is organized by INVE – Experimental Platform of Arts and funded by the Audiovisual Development Fund of the National Council for Culture and the Arts, Call 2016. In addition, the festival has the support of Goethe Institut, Film School University of Valparaiso, Valparaiso’s Balmaceda Young Art, the Cultural Park of Valparaiso, Festival DanzaBA(Argentina) and Cuático Agency.
