Overheard Map:
open call for digital residencies

We’re holding the third edition of Overheard Map of Now, and would love to hear from you if you want to take part in collaborative, overlapping residencies between November 6 and December 4.

Over a week-long residency that will take place online, artists are invited to explore the paradox of solitary connectedness, the incredible prevalence of digital personas – both consciously performed and not – and the acts of translation and duration that go into making physical work digital and vice versa.

Artists will work in pairs of one digital and one physical artist, in whatever way they wish, to develop work around the theme. Each artist will be given full access to the website, and is welcome to use other forms of digital communication (Hangout, Instagram, anything) to communicate work and interact with the artists that come after them. All work will need to be open-source.

Artists are welcome to work in any medium, and we are especially interested in creative coders and artists with emphatically physical practices.

Does this sound like you? Email us at overheardmapofnow@gmail.com with the subject Re: Like. Please include samples of your work, why you’d like to take part and how you would respond to the theme. Please also indicate your availability between 6 November and 4 December.
