Sculpture Walk Springfield’s 2019-2020 Collection
Sculpture Walk Springfield is currently searching for sculptures for their new collection to debut on April 27, 2019. Up to 20 sculptures will be chosen and they will be placed throughout downtown Springfield. The deadline for submissions is January 31, 2019.
Sculpture Walk Springfield is committed to playing a major role in rejuvenating Springfield’s urban downtown and bustling economy. With the mission of “creating a museum without walls for all to enjoy,†Sculpture Walk Springfield began their inaugural year in May 2016 with the installation of 13 sculptures throughout downtown. Over the past 2 years, Sculpture Walk Springfield has installed 56 sculptures in downtown Springfield. There are currently 28 sculptures installed throughout downtown Springfield. Seven of the 28 are permanent acquisitions.
Artists may submit up to two sculptures for consideration. Sculptures chosen for Sculpture Walk Springfield 2019-2020 will be on loan to the program for one year and displayed to the public for ten months. They will remain in the ownership of the artist throughout the program. Artists of selected sculptures will receive a $1,000 stipend. Insurance coverage will be provided through an arrangement with the Springfield Art Museum and the City of Springfield. All sculptures will be available for purchase to the public. Shipping will be provided on a case-by-case basis.

Sculpture Walk Springfield’s current collection of 24 sculptures will remain in place in downtown Springfield until March 2019. Maps for the walk can be found at several downtown businesses or on the Sculpture Walk Springfield website. Every sculpture in the collection is also available for purchase.
