GRAND OFF World Independent Short Film Awards Warsaw
is now accepting submissions for its 9th edition. Our festival will take place in
Warsaw, from 1st December to 5th December, 2015.

The GRAND OFF is a short film festival that supports independent filmmakers and
film school students before their professional debut. We accept all genres, the
only requirements is that films must be 45 minutes under in length and completed
after 1st January, 2013.

REGULATIONS OF
GRAND OFF WORLD INDEPENDENT SHORT FILM AWARDS
9TH EDITION, 1 – 5 DEC 2015, WARSAW

Grand OFF World Independent Short Film Awards submission is open for:
– films submitted by independent filmmakers and film clubs
– films submitted by Academy Members
– films submitted by directors of our partner film festivals
AWARDS NOMINATIONS
Nominations will be made by the Selection Committee in Warsaw. Academy Members will have the
right to indicate a film for nomination, which must be approved by the Selection Committee.
§1
Submission of the film to the competition means acceptance of the following regulations.
§2
Every film enters free of charge. All film genres are accepted.
§3
We accept:
– films made after the 1st of January 2013
– films which were made without any professional production support (except for film schools)
– whose length does not exceed 45 minutes
§4
Film print must be properly packed in order to protect it against mechanical damages. If not
respected, mechanical damage may lead to disqualification of the film.
§5
Film prints have to be marked with the filmmaker’s name, the film’s title, its length, a contact email
and telephone number. All films must have English subtitles.
§6
Films accompanied by a properly filled out and signed Submission Entry Form (available in the
SUBMIT FILM section on the official Grand OFF website, www.grandoff.eu) must be sent by the 15th
of August 2015 to the following address:

Films without a properly filled out and signed Submission Entry Form will be dismissed!
§7
Having submitted the film, the author accepts the organizers’ right to screen the film at the official
Grand OFF Awards Gala and any other screenings promoting Grand OFF World Independent Short
Film Awards. Moreover, the entrant permits Grand OFF to use excerpts of any selected work of up to
60 seconds in length, for promotional purposes only.
§8
Submitting your entry, you certify that you are the legal and beneficial owner of all rights of copyright
in the material submitted. The contestant accepts all responsibility in this regard. The festival
reserves the right to reject a film on the basis of copyright infringement.
§9
Grand OFF reserves the right to publish the email and telephone number for the primary contact and
distributor of the films selected for the programme in the festival catalogue. The film maker’s
personal data may also be used for promotional purposes on television, on the internet, in
newspapers and on the radio.
SELECTION PROCESS AND GRAND OFF WORLD INDEPENDENT SHORT FILM
AWARDS
§10
Selected films will receive nominations for Grand OFF World Independent Short Film Awards in the
following categories: directing, script, cinematography, editing, actor, actress, best feature film, best
documentary, best scenography and best costume, best animation. The list of the nominated films
will be available on the Grand OFF website, www.grandoff.eu, on the 30th September 2015 at the
latest.
§11
The submitted films will be evaluated by the professional Selection Committee, which will make the
nominations in the respective categories. The members of the Grand OFF Academy (more than 50
professionals from 25 countries from all over the world) will select the best pictures from among the
nominated ones.
§12
The authors of the nominated films are invited for the Awards Ceremony in Warsaw. The Organisers
will provide accommodation and programme throughout the 4-day long Grand OFF festival. The
Organizer does not cover travel expenses.
§13
The authors of the films cover the costs of sending the DVD copies to the Grand OFF. The Organizers
do not return submitted DVD copies. All submitted competition entries will remain in the
Organizer’s archives.
§14
Technical Data of the submitted films:
– digital copy of the film on a DVD (PAL) disc (DVD format and autostart) or mini DV
– 4:3 or 16:9 format
– English subtitles
– dialogue list
One DVD should carry only one film. DVD should be marked as following: original title, english title,
director, running time, email address and telephone number.
§15
Authors of the nominated films are obliged to send the following, by the 15th of October 2015:
– the film’s trailer (if such exists)
– film synopsis
– at least 2 stills from the film (10 x 15 cm ) B&W or colour
– picture of the nominated artist
– biography of the nominated artist
