In A Queer Time And Place | Video Art Submissions

Video Out Distribution is seeking experimental or feature-length video work that explores themes of queerness. The title of the call is directly inspired by Jack Halberstam’s canonical 2005 text of the same name. In an effort to define a contemporary queer aesthetic (as Halberstam endeavoured to do) works selected from this call will represent current visual and conceptual concerns and strategies within the international queer community.

Works must have been completed after January 2014. To submit please send a weblink of the work, a short synopsis, and an artist bio to info@videoout.ca. Digital submissions only. Digitized film submission accepted. Please send email submissions with the subject LastName_queertime by Saturday, August 1st 2015.

Video Out Distribution is an international, non-exclusive dis tributor and is a part of VIVO Media Arts Centre located in Vancouver, British Columbia. Works selected from this call for submissions will be screened at VIVO’s monthly series New Additions, at the July 14th 2015 installment, and will also be entered into distribution.
