January Juried ‘Abstract’ Art Competition
CURRENT COMPETITION THEME: ABSTRACT
This competition is open to any abstract themed artistic medium that can be encapsulated in a singular picture/jpeg format. Open to creative interpretation, but a good guideline for this submission is, can your artwork be displayed on a conventional gallery wall or in a single gallery room? If your submission fits these two loose criteria, it is most likely welcome in this Abstract Competition. This first competition will be juried by a handful of anonymous, hand-picked International working artists and curators that will be disclosed when the winners are announced. This will function to deter artists from trying to tailor their submission to any specific juror’s artistic taste. Submit only the work that you like best.
Artworks will be judged based on creativity, interpretation, originality, quality of work, composition, and overall artistic ability.
Through this (and future) competitions, artists will be competing to win 1st, 2nd, 3rd and Honorable Mention levels of Cash Prizes and Certificates. Winners work and personal website link will also be displayed on the Past Competition Winners page for them to link to and reference. Your work will automatically be entered into a pool of artists to keep in mind for future exhibition opportunities with galleries and curators that I have a relationship with and will be developing relationships with. Competitions will be evolving and working up to providing specific competition winners, as well as artists from this pool, with Solo, Two-Person, and small Group Gallery Exhibition Opportunities in a handful of exciting new and established galleries in Los Angeles.
